FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

You can find most answers to your questions right on this page.

Solar panels are made up of many solar cells joined together. These cells are made with materials that have a photoelectric effect, which means that they produce electricity when they’re struck by photons (i.e., light). Solar cells capture the electricity produced when the photoelectric materials are hit by sunlight, and then send that electricity to an inverter. This inverter converts the electricity from direct current (DC) into a form that can be used in your house: alternating current electricity (AC). In some cases, the system also includes batteries that store excess power until you need it.

A New Sol  Renewable grid tied system will save you money – there are no running costs.

Because there are no moving parts and no servicing required, there are no maintenance costs, except the occasional cleaning of the panels to keep the surface soaking in as much sun as possible.

Of course you can. We can specify an off-grid system for you, after our site visit.

Not unless you have an off grid or hybrid system.

The New Sol Renewable system has the ability to dramatically lower your power bill, but if you do use normal grid power, you will be charged at the normal rate. When your Solar system is producing power – you are not paying a cent for it. In some areas you may receive a credit for the distribution of power back into the grid, it depends which power company you are with and we can advise you during our visit.

Yes, you can. These are called Hybrid systems – where you have a grid-tied panel solution along with a battery storage facility. We can talk to you about this when we visit your site.

We have mounting systems to suit most roof types and even field installation set-ups when roof space isn’t ideal or available.

New Sol Renewable Product Warranty for solar panels has a 25 year output warranty from the Manufacturer.

All other components, such as the Inverter and mounting system, also come with extensive Manufacturer-backed warranties.

How to Get Started?

You can start by placing a call over to us.

We will discuss your current and future energy needs and the specifics on your “load profile” – how much energy you use and when you use it. We will tell you if there are any obstacles, like poor site location or reduced sun exposure, explain which solar power incentives will make your project more affordable and anticipate potential objections from key stakeholders.

Our specialists will handle the details of figuring out how to go solar – specifically, how to connect your solar system to the local utility grid. We will need to understand the physical space available in your current electrical equipment to connect a PV solar system and undertake an analysis of your roof capacity to hold the panels safely.

After every relevant factor has been taken into consideration, we will provide you with a detailed quote and options for installation.
